Skate Update – tradeshow, Vanilla Junior tradeshow coming in a few days

Our annual tradeshow is coming up in just a few days.  Here are some reminders for those that are able to join us. . .
1)  The show will start at 2pm on Mon, Oct 7.  The dinner will be at 6pm and then there will be a meeting at the Firehouse Skating Rink after the dinner.
2)  The host hotel is the Courtyard Marriott, which is the same hotel we’ve used in the past.
3)  If there are items you know you’ll be picking up, consider placing the order ahead of time.  That will help us get everything pulled and ready for you ahead of time.
Many of our vendors will be showing new items at the tradeshow and we will get details on those out as soon as possible after the show to let everyone know what new items are coming this season.
We just received a big shipment from Vanilla and now have most sizes and colors of their Junior skates in stock.  We still don’t have quite everything, but it is a much better selection than before this shipment.

Our tradeshow is coming up in just a few days.  It is Oct 7 and 8 (Mon and Tues) here at our Roanoke VA warehouse.  Here are some details if you’re able to join us.

 

Monday

2pm – The tradeshow starts.

6pm – Complimentary dinner at our warehouse.

7pm – Meetings and elections at the Firehouse Skating Rink (a short drive from our warehouse).  Jim and Cindy Anderson will be leading a seminar on maximizing your business.

 

Tuesday

9am – The tradeshow resumes back at our warehouse.

 

If you haven’t made your hotel reservation yet, their phone number is 540-563-5002.  Press 3 to get to a live person at that location.  If you haven’t RSVP’d with us yet, please do so ASAP so we can have a good count for the caterer.

If you know of any supplies you’ll be picking up, call ahead of time and we can get it pulled for you, ready and waiting.  That would save both of us some time and make things easier for both of us while you’re here.

Consider picking up anything you know you’ll be using during the year to save on the shipping costs.  Party supplies (plates, cups, etc) would be a good example of something that is a basic item where the freight costs are pretty significant, and we’ve got plenty of those in stock.  Rental skate supplies (bearings, laces, stops) would be another good example.

Our annual fall show is quickly approaching.  The show will be Oct 7 and 8 (Mon and Tues) at our Roanonke VA warehouse.  This is a great opportunity to see new products, meet with vendors and other rink owners, and get some deals on closeout merchandise.  Here are some details:
   #The host hotel is the Courtyard Marriott.  Call (540-563-5002) or go online (click here) by Sept 6 to guarantee the group rate of $109.
   #The local RSA Chapter is working on a program Monday night at the Firehouse Skating rink, which is just a short drive from our warehouse.  They’ll have former rink owners Jim and Cindy Anderson doing a presentation on “Is Your House In Order” about maximizing your business.  They’ll also be doing chapter elections.  You’ll need to be a member of that chapter of the RSA to vote in the election, but everything else is open to everyone.
   #We will have a complimentary dinner at 6pm on Monday night at our warehouse.  Please register with us in advance so we’ll have a good count for the caterers.
   #The show will start at 2pm on Monday the 7th.  The dinner will be at 6pm.  The Firehouse program starts at 7pm.  Then the show resumes at 9am on Tuesday the 8th.

Vanilla has introduced a new wheel called the Astro.  This wheel has a really great looking hub that was turning heads at the recent Sk8 Expo show.  We have the 58mm version in stock now in pink and green.  They’re working on a 64mm version and possibly two other colors.  We did not get many of these on the first shipment, the ones that are in stock now will not last very long at all, so please order as soon as possible if you’re interested in getting some from this first batch.

Our annual tradeshow will be on Oct 7 and 8 (Mon and Tues) at our Roanoke, VA warehouse. This is a great opportunity to meet with different vendors that will be showing off their new products. You can meet other rink operators and talk to them about what they’re doing and what’s working. We will have a big sale on older or discontinued products. There is no charge to attend and there will even be a free dinner on Monday night. The local RSA Chapter is working on an educational program for Monday night.

We will also be attending the Sk8 Expo show in Florida. If you’re going to be there please stop by our booth, we’d love to meet you in person.

We still have the Chicago 100 and 105 skates in stock. These are also known as the Sidewalk Skate. They’re not in the retail catalogs anymore, so they’re easy to forget about, but we do still have them. They come in black or white and from sizes 10J-4. This is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a budget juvenile skate that’s very affordable.

The Clean Skate wheel washers are back in stock.  This is a great machine for keeping your rental wheels looking their best.  Whoever is currently in charge of skate maintenance at your rink will thank you for getting this machine.  They’ll be able to clean wheels so much faster and easier than before.  Plus some rinks will offer to clean their customer’s skates for a small fee, so you can make some money off of the machine.

The machine is sturdy but could be moved from one rink to another if you have multiple facilities.

If you need bigger skates, the Roces inlines are back in stock. We’ve got the FCO inline in sizes 13, 14, and 15 and the ZYX inline in sizes 16, 17, and even 18.

This is a time of the year when a lot of rinks work on their rental skates. We have a good supply right now of the Sure-Grip 140, Pacer’s New Generation, and the Pacer Vintage. We have parts for repairs and we have replacement boots in stock. We also have the EZ Roll for a budget option on an adjustable skate for smaller feet that would give you some flexibility.
