We are starting to receive new shipments for the fall, and we just got in a bunch of the new GTX-500 skates.  We don’t have all sizes yet, but we did get in some good ones.

 

Black – sz 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11

White – sz 6

Black w/ Pink – Coming soon, but none in stock yet.

 

These will be the same price as the previous version.

 

We did NOT get the New Generation Quads.  We messed up there, thought they were coming, but were actually backordered.  We apologize.

 

There are several new items from Roller Derby we want to let you know about.

 

First off is a new deluxe bag.  It’s called the Elite Rolling Bag and the name says it all.  This is a large rolling bag with an adjustable handle.  It has a backpack built into it that can be attached or removed with a zipper.  Features include:

1680 denier nylon construction

interior compression straps

zippers throughout the bag

oversized water bottle holder

padded interior pocket for laptop or tablets

custom wheel pocket

durable pull cart style with adjustable settings

pockets throughout

 

This is the nicest skate bag we’ve seen in quite a long time.  They’re in stock now.

We just received an email from the RSA about an attempt to get roller skating in the Olympics.  It’s certainly worth a try, and even if it doesn’t work, it might create some publicity and excitement around roller skating.  Here is the message we received. . . .

Fellow RSA Members, Jim and Judy Link, suggested that, riding on the coat tails of the Olympics, RSA members, particularly Kids Skate Free members and those who send out newsletters, should encourage their customers to write the Olympic committee to try to get roller skating sports included in the Olympics.

This email goes out to a lot of different addresses.  Many of you have customer email lists, facebook pages, twitter accounts, etc.  So if the people that see this pass this on to their friends and/or customers, we would have a huge amount of people thinking about roller skating while the Olympics are going on.  It’s worth a try and wouldn’t cost you anything.  Take a minute to post this on your facebook page, twitter feed, email list, etc and see what kind of excitement we can generate.  Use #olympicrollerskating to generate some extra traction.

Pokemon Go is the fastest moving mobile game ever.  You see kids walking around all over the place with their phones trying to capture different Pokemon characters.  Some rinks have had Pokemon sessions to tie into the publicity, where kids can skate with their phones instead of walking with them to hatch eggs faster.  We have several Pokemon items in stock from our novelty site that you might want to check out while the trend is hot.

Steve Earley (aka “Sure-Grip Steve”) worked for Sure-Grip for several years.  The main part of his job was visiting rinks and doing in rink events to promote skating.  He also attended chapter meetings and tradeshows on behalf of Sure-Grip.  He has stepped down from that position to accept another job (still in skating).  We want to thank him for the work he did and the excitement he always brought with him on behalf of Sure-Grip and Southeastern Skate.  Good luck with the new position and keep in touch.

 

You’ve probably heard about Pokemon Go, a new game that is played with cell phones and creating a lot of excitement.

 

We have several Pokemon items left over from several years back.  These are not specifically “Pokemon Go” items, but they are Pokemon and they are legit.  We almost forgot we had them, then started seeing a lot of buzz building about the Pokemon Go game, and we remembered these were stored away on a top shelf in the back corner.  We’ve dusted them off, and they’re ready to ship.

We’re not sure how “hot” these items will be.  But supplies are somewhat limited, first come, first serve, so order quick if you’re interested.

We have received two different shipments of the Candi Girl skates from Roller Derby.  We now have almost all sizes and colors in stock, except for the following:
U772 – white with pink – sizes 7 and 8
U774 – blue – sizes 7, 8, and 9

We also received a new shipment of the GT50 Plus light up skates.  All sizes are back in stock (4 through 10).  The newest shipment has slightly redesigned controls for the lights.

Mark you calendars now for our annual tradeshow.  It will be at our Roanoke warehouse on October 3 and 4.  This is a great chance to see new products, meet with vendors, and also talk to other rink owners.  We’ll have more details soon.

We just received a second big shipment of the Candi Girl skates.  We’re now in much better shape than we were before.  There are still a couple sizes we’re out of, but almost everything is now back in stock.  Here is a list of the ones we don’t have. . .

On the GTX500 we are still out of black sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.  We are not expecting more of these until the fall shipments start arriving.
