Chicago Skate Shaped Bags

The Chicago Skate Shaped Bags are now available again.  These were big sellers a few years ago, then were discontinued.  These are great bags for the price, with an attractive quad skate design on the side of the bag.

 

These are NOT big enough for larger inline skates.  But they’re great for quads, especially for younger skaters that will like the design.  They’re vinyl, with a zipper and carrying straps.  They come in blue or pink.

Sure-Grip Malibu Skate

The Sure-Grip Malibu skates are now in stock.  This is an entry level quad high top skate with indoor/outdoor wheels.  The boots are leather lined with stitched soles.  The plates are Probe.  Sure-Grip is using “The California Skate Co” as the brand for this skate, to differentiate it from Sure-Grip’s main line and to appeal to kids that like the California lifestyle.  This looks like it could be a great beginner skate and help to fill the void created when Dominion closed.

 

Right now we have black sizes 4-12 and white sizes 4-10 in stock, but it looks like they’ll offer sizes down to a 1 in both colors.

This is the time of the year when new products start arriving, and we’ve had several big deliveries recently we need to let you know about.

Roller Derby Elite Revolution – A black quad speed skate with red, white, and blue wheels for a patriotic look.  This is the entry level for their Elite line of quad skates and it has a lot of nice features including boots with a comfort weave system, lateral support, and a scuff guard coating.  The bearings are Bevo Silver 5 and the wheels have a nice looking tri-pour look.  It comes in sizes 4-12.

GTX-500 – This popular skate has been updated for 2016 with newer graphics.  Plus they’ve added a black skate with pink laces, wheel hubs, and stitching that could appeal to boys and girls.  This version has a finish similar to suede on parts of it.  A shipment is expected later today, here is what we’re hoping to have any minute now.

black – men’s sizes 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12
white – men’s size 6
black with pink – men’s sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12

Candi Girl – We’ve struggled to keep this one in stock.  But a new shipment is on the way and we should have almost everything back in stock for the first time in a very long time.  We will still be out of a few sizes of the U774 blue (missing 7, 8, and 9), but the rest should be here.

Roller Derby Elite Rolling Bag – A large skate bag with wheels and a telescoping handle.  Includes a removable backpack that can be attached to the main bag with a zipper.  One of the biggest and nicest bags we’ve seen in a long time.

This is the time of the year when new products start to arrive.  We just received in the new Revolution skate from Roller Derby.  This is from their Elite line of quad skates, for the higher end products Roller Derby makes.

We are starting to receive new shipments for the fall, and we just got in a bunch of the new GTX-500 skates.  We don’t have all sizes yet, but we did get in some good ones.

There are several new items from Roller Derby we want to let you know about.

 

First off is a new deluxe bag.  It’s called the Elite Rolling Bag and the name says it all.  This is a large rolling bag with an adjustable handle.  It has a backpack built into it that can be attached or removed with a zipper.  Features include:

We just received an email from the RSA about an attempt to get roller skating in the Olympics.  It’s certainly worth a try, and even if it doesn’t work, it might create some publicity and excitement around roller skating.  Here is the message we received. . . .

Fellow RSA Members, Jim and Judy Link, suggested that, riding on the coat tails of the Olympics, RSA members, particularly Kids Skate Free members and those who send out newsletters, should encourage their customers to write the Olympic committee to try to get roller skating sports included in the Olympics.

This email goes out to a lot of different addresses.  Many of you have customer email lists, facebook pages, twitter accounts, etc.  So if the people that see this pass this on to their friends and/or customers, we would have a huge amount of people thinking about roller skating while the Olympics are going on.  It’s worth a try and wouldn’t cost you anything.  Take a minute to post this on your facebook page, twitter feed, email list, etc and see what kind of excitement we can generate.  Use #olympicrollerskating to generate some extra traction.

Pokemon Go is the fastest moving mobile game ever.  You see kids walking around all over the place with their phones trying to capture different Pokemon characters.  Some rinks have had Pokemon sessions to tie into the publicity, where kids can skate with their phones instead of walking with them to hatch eggs faster.  We have several Pokemon items in stock from our novelty site that you might want to check out while the trend is hot.

Pokemon Magnets – Seven small Pokemon magnets, attached to a display card.

Pokemon Stickers – Ten Pokemon stickers per envelope (looks kind of like the packs that baseball cards would come in).

Steve Earley (aka “Sure-Grip Steve”) worked for Sure-Grip for several years.  The main part of his job was visiting rinks and doing in rink events to promote skating.  He also attended chapter meetings and tradeshows on behalf of Sure-Grip.  He has stepped down from that position to accept another job (still in skating).  We want to thank him for the work he did and the excitement he always brought with him on behalf of Sure-Grip and Southeastern Skate.  Good luck with the new position and keep in touch.
